Technical committees address specific areas of Network activity, developing Network policies and procedures in these areas and overseeing related areas of CTN protocols.  The Steering Committee appoints Committee members to three year terms based on relevant expertise.  Committee members may come from Core or non-Core Centers.  Individuals interested in participating in CTN Committees should contact the DCC at bmtctn@emmes.com. 

The Acute GVHD committee is responsible for making recommendations concerning grading and treatment of acute GVHD.

The Chronic GVHD committee is responsible for making recommendations concerning diagnosing and staging of chronic GVHD.

The Graft Characterization committee is responsible for establishing recommendations for laboratory monitoring of hematopoietic graft and other cellular infusion composition and data collection related to these products.  The committee also develops recommendations for monitoring graft-related data quality for BMT CTN clinical trials.

The Immune Reconstitution committee is responsible of establishing recommendations for clinical and laboratory monitoring and data collection on immune reconstitution for both allo- and auto-transplant protocols.  They are also responsible for establishing chimerism on allo-transplant protocols.  The committee develops assay-specific procedures for BMT CTN protocols.

The Infectious Disease committee is responsible for establishing recommendations for definitions of infections, clinical and laboratory monitoring of infections and data collection on infections, for both allo- and auto-transplant protocols.  The subcommittee also develops recommendations for standard of care for prophylaxis and treatment of infections for BMT CTN clinical trials. 

The Operations/Administration committee is responsible for developing procedures for the organizational aspects of the BMT CTN.  This includes policies such as the election of officers, committee memberships and terms, and review and prioritization of protocol concepts and implementation.

The Pediatric committee ensures that pediatric patients are considered for inclusion in all investigative protocols developed by the CTN.  The committee is also responsible for ensuring that appropriate measures are addressed for pediatric patients with regards to informed consent, patient care and monitoring.

The Pharmacy committee.

The Publications committee is responsible for developing publication and presentation policies.  The committee reviews all proposed publications and presentations to ensure protection of proprietary information and participant confidentiality.  The committee also reviews publications to determine the public impact of publications that may be incomplete or provide premature results.
